2018 Harvest Prices Finalized & Production Reports
Jason Eden
The harvest prices for the 2018 crop insurance year have just been finalized as they were set throughout the month of October. Below is a summary of the prices for corn & soybeans.
Corn $3.68 (7.1% decline)
Soybeans $8.60 (15.4% decline)
Since the harvest prices for both crops are lower than their spring prices, if you have revenue protection (which most do), the yield at which you would trigger a loss increases to make up for the lower price.
If you want to know your specific loss trigger yield for your policy or a particular field if you have optional units, please call, text, or email anytime.
The best time to report your 2018 production is as soon as you finish harvesting - while it is still fresh in your mind.
