2021 Fall Update

Grain Bins - CARRYOVER GRAIN

  • If you still have any 2020 grain in your bins, do NOT put 2021 crop in BEFORE you have an insurance adjuster measure  =>  Contact us ASAP and we will get a measurement scheduled.

SILAGE, High Moisture Corn, Ag Bags, Fed Production

  • If you are going to have:

    • Corn chopped for silage

    • Grain stored in Ag Bags

    • High moisture corn going to a bunker or a high moisture bin

    • Corn fed to livestock

  • Please contact us ASAP, more than likely we will want to get an adjuster out to do an appraisal BEFORE you harvest.

WHEAT

  • September 30th, 2021 is the last day to add or change your MPCI wheat coverage for your wheat planted this fall (2022 crop year).

    • Please contact us if you intend to PLANT any wheat this fall so that we can ADD or REVIEW your coverage.

    • Oct. 15th is the final plant date for wheat.

  • Oct. 15th - Final Plant Date

  • Nov. 15th - Acreage Reporting Deadline

2021 CORN & SOYBEAN HARVEST

  • If there is a PRICE INCREASE, under MPCI revenue protection, the yield GUARANTEE stays the same, but if your yield falls below your guarantee you get paid the HIGHER harvest price for each bushel lost.

  • Production Records - LOSS or NO Loss

    • If delivered to a commercial facility, we will need to get a copy of your load summary sheets, not just individual tickets.

    • If stored in your grain bins:

      • Record which fields are stored in each bin.

      • If you place more than one field (unit) in a single bin, make sure you have an acceptable load log by field (unit) -OR- place a mark on the side of the bin before adding grain from the next field.

    • LOAD LOGS - an acceptable load log could be:

      • Printed scale tickets or notebook log of a grain cart or farm scale.

      • A grain cart equipped with a Bluetooth Libra or iForeman system.

      • Precision harvest yield maps from your combine monitor.

        • These last two, bluetooth grain carts and precision yield maps, can actually serve as a HARD record IF calibrated and they are a complete record for a given field (unit).

    • Give us a call if you have questions about acceptable records or if you want help figuring out a method that works BEST for YOUR operation.

REPORTING PRODUCTION

  • The best time to report your production is as soon as you finish harvesting - while it is still fresh in your mind.

  • December 10th is the End of the Insurance Period - with that said, we like to have ANY POSSIBLE claims filed by this date. To do so, we like to get your production reported by then so we can check for losses.  We will check all of your yields for losses so you don’t miss out on a potential payment.

  • ONCE you have your PRODUCTION RECORDS ready, PLEASE LET US KNOW so we can help you get your crop insurance production report filled out.

    • If possible, we like to get a copy of your PRODUCTION RECORDS (ex. elevator summary sheets, bluetooth grain cart records, bin measurements, etc.)

  • If you would like your GRAIN BINS MEASURED, please contact our office as soon as you are finished with harvest.

  • If you would like to use your PRECISION harvest YIELD MAPS to report your production, give us a call and we would be happy to help. **NEED to CALIBRATE harvest monitor to within 3% of a scale weight & RECORD it **

Thank you for your business & have a safe harvest!
